A community pub in Leighton Buzzard has seen a boost in trade since it reopened its doors with a brand new look.
The Clay Pipe, in Appenine Way, saw around 500 local residents attend the launch, where they could sample food and drink off the new menu in the new-look surroundings.
“The launch was really successful and the pub has been really busy ever since,” said licensee Elaine Whitaker.
“The best thing has been the customer reaction; everyone is really pleased with the makeover and can’t believe what has been achieved. They really like the new décor and believe that the pub now offers a more welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.”
The pub was closed for seven weeks whilst it underwent a major refurbishment costing £200,000 by licensees Elaine Whitaker and Paul Marshall and owners Punch Taverns.
As a result, the investment has created eight new jobs.
The pub has undergone a full internal and external refurbishment including full redecoration inside to give a more modern and updated appearance, whilst keeping the traditional elements like exposed brickwork.
