Renowned conductor/composer Malcolm Archer is to a lead choral workshop and evensong on Saturday, May 11.
Currently director of music at Winchester College, Malcolm and the Wingrave Singers invite singers to join them for this special day at Wingrave Parish Church.
Malcolm is one of the UK’s finest church musicians and his career includes posts at Norwich, Bristol and Wells cathedrals and director of music at St Paul’s, London. He has also been a judge on BBC Songs of Praise School Choir Competition and adjudicator for BBC Radio 2’s Young Chorister of the Year.
The workshop is open to singers of all ages with some sight reading ability. Music copies will be supplied in your own booklet to take home. The day starts at 10.30am and ends after choral evensong about 6.15pm.
Charge will be £15 per person which includes refreshments (tea, coffee and cakes) but singers asked to bring their own packed lunch. The deadline for applications is April 15. Places for under 18s are free.
Malcolm will be joined by Colin Spinks, Director of Wingrave Singers and accomplished organist. Colin said: “I am delighted to welcome Malcolm to Wingrave and we look forward to seeing local singers from other choirs and individuals for this exciting workshop, which will also cover singing techniques.”
