The most important day of the Christian calendar will be especially memorable for a large group of people who have been baptised by Leighton Buzzard church Into The Light.

In all, 19 people were fully submerged and baptised by Elim Pastor, Colin Kaye, in a special service on Easter Sunday.

The highly charged service, watched by almost 200 people passed into celebration with dancing and singing until late into the night.

The people baptised came from all walks of life, aged from six to 60.

Pastor Kaye said “Baptism shows on-lookers that their friends and loved ones have place their faith in God.

“Easter Sunday is, by tradition, the day when such services are carried out as Christians across the world celebrate their belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“They know at that moment that something has changed in their lives and you see it on their faces as they emerge.”

Into The light is a new church that’s part of the Elim Pentecostal movement in the centre of Leighton Buzzard. It has three thriving youth groups, a powerful music ministry and a worldwide charity project that seeks to bring the love of Jesus to those who need practical help.

The church meets every Wednesday 8pm and every Sunday 11am at the Into The Light building, 5-9 Lake Street.

See www.intothelightleighton.co.uk for more on the baptism evening.
