A Leighton pub has launched a new fundraising appeal calling on Leighton Buzzard locals to shave their heads or ‘get creative’ with their hair to help children and young people with cancer.
The Swan Hotel, in High Street, is encouraging everyone in the area to raise as much money as possible for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, for their ‘Big Buzz’ campaign. There will be a series of entertaining events at The Swan, including employee beard/head shaving, kids haircuts and a raffle on Saturday morning.
Tel Philpott, bar manager at The Swan, said: “We are very excited about the Big Buzz events organised and are hoping that the Leighton Buzzard locals will get behind us and be brave enough to have their head shaved, chest waxed or legs de-fuzzed to raise money for CLIC Sargent.
“If the thought of head-shaving or the buzz of the clippers is too daunting, punters can show their support by spraying their hair a different colour or donning a wacky new look for the evening. Overall we want everyone to have a great time and support the charity, who offer so much help to young cancer patients and their families in our community.”
