This year’s community bonfire and fireworks charity event in Leighton proved to be another success.
Leighton’s Lions Club held its annual spectacular on Saturday at Brooklands Middle School, Brooklands Drive, with hot food and drinks, rides plus live music from Vivace.
Councillor Amanda Dodwell, who was a special guest given the opportunity to light the bonfire, said: “I was delighted to join the Lions and the many thousands of people who turned out on Saturday night for the annual firework display. It was a cold evening and I appreciated the opportunity to light the bonfire to warm everyone up.
“As always, the organisation was excellent and I would like to thank the many volunteers from the Leighton Buzzard Lions and other local groups that made this event possible. I know the money raised will be appreciated by the good causes that the Lions support.”
