BEDS Police says it is continuing work to clamp down on drivers speeding through Tilsworth.
We recently featured the story of Tilsworth 12-year-old Sophie Rushby, who has mounted her own campaign against motorists flouting the 30mph speed limit through the village.
This week a Beds Police spokeswoman said the force was carrying on work with Tilsworth Parish Council and with highways officers from Central Beds Council, as there was “clearly an issue” with speeding in the village.
Of 12,000 motorists whose speed had been measured during one camera session, 7,500 had been travelling faster than 35mph.
“We will have cameras down there on a regular basis to encourage compliance with the speed limit,” she added.
