A teenager has been left shaken after he was attacked with a hammer and robbed by masked men as he rode his bike through an alleyway in Leighton.
The 18-year-old victim was assaulted as he walked through the footpath which leads from Lake Street to South Street close to Morrisons supermarket.
He had been making his way towards South Street with his friend when the pair were attacked by two offenders.
The victim’s friend managed to escape and run away but the victim was assaulted with a hammer and suffered injuries to his head, shoulder and arms.
His bag containing a mobile phone, wallet and cash were stolen and the two offenders fled towards Lake Street after the incident on Wednesday at 10.30pm.
The two attackers were both white males who were in their mid to late teens. The first offender was around 5ft 5ins tall, of average build and wearing a dark blue hooded top with an Adidas logo on the left chest and dark blue jogging bottoms. The second offender was of a similar height, slender build and wearing dark clothing.
