The Wing area police station has a new cop at its helm following the transfer of Inspector Emma Garside. The new rural neighbourhood inspector is James Davies who has been working for Thames Valley Police for the last 15 years.
Most recently he has been in charge of the operational response to incidents across Buckinghamshire.
He said: “It is with great excitement that I take on the role of rural neighbourhood inspector for Aylesbury Vale Local Police Area.
“I come from a rural background and understand the impact crime can have on the rural community.
“There is very much a focus on rural crime within Thames Valley Police and this is reflected within our new policing plan for 2013-14 and I will ensure this continues to be a priority.
“While the area that I am responsible for is vast I have an excellent team dedicated to dealing with rural crime and if you are unaware who
your local officer is then this information can be found on our website or by phoning the national non-emergency number: 101.”
Insp Davies urged residents to sign up for the force’s message alert system.
“TVP has a system in place called Thames Valley Community Alerts and linked to this specific Country Watch Alerts. By spending a few minutes signing up to this you can receive emails, texts or phone calls updating you with what is going on in your local area”. Go to the force website for details.
