More than nine out of ten residents enjoy living in Aylesbury Vale, a survey has revealed.

Of the residents questioned in Aylesbury Vale District Council’s latest residents’ satisfaction survey, 92 per cent said they were happy living in the district.

In the same survey, 78 per cent of respondents felt the council was doing a good job. That figure was up three per cent on last year. And over seven in ten respondents (73 per cent) agreed that the authority provides value for money – compared to a national average of just 51 per cent.*

The area’s top three strengths were a safe environment, a peaceful location and the Vale’s location in terms of easy access to other places for work, leisure or to shop. The top three things seen as needing most improvement were transport links, local services and local jobs. Councillor Brian Roberts, said: “These results are impressive, particularly given the financial pressures on the council.”

The consultation was carried out in two stages, comprising of 2,203 telephone interviews. Interviewees were questioned at random on life in the Vale, the way the district council runs things, anti-social behaviour and local democracy.
