With the snow finally clearing, the 2013 cricket season is fast approaching and local clubs are now preparing for the summer ahead.
Long Marston are one club hoping for on-field success this year as they continue to develop their junior section with the aim of strengthing their adult teams in the long term.
Long Marston would like to invite players of all ages and abilities to join their enthusiastic and family-friendly club.
Featuring one of the best grounds in the area, the club currently runs four adult and four junior sides.
Their adults teams are always looking for new players – both young and old – with their Saturday 1st XI playing a very good standard of cricket in the Cherwell League Division Three. The season begins in early May.
Their Saturday 2nd XI play in Division Seven and 3rd XI in Division 10. The Sunday XI play a mix of both league and friendly cricket.
Long Marston also host many rep matches during the season, including ECB Trophy matches.
Winter net sessions are running on Monday nights and anyone interested in getting involved is invited to get in touch through the club’s Facebook page.
