A married couple from Leighton Buzzard who have pleaded not guilty to fraud charges against the Royal British Legion are due to appear in court again in the new year.
It is expected that Andrew Pullen, 51, and his wife Georgina Pullen, 52 of Bassett Road, will be committed for trial at their next appearance at Luton Magistrates Court again on January 16, with a date to be scheduled at Luton Crown Court.
The couple were bailed after appearing at Luton Magistrates Court on October 24 after being charged with fraud by abuse of position on October 5, following an investigation into the alleged theft of charity funds.
It is alleged that between October 2008 and May 2011 the couple stole about £8,000 from funds gained by charitable means while acting as treasurer and secretary for the Leighton Buzzard branch of the charity.
