AN AMBITION to become a writer has prompted a former fireman to self-publish in order to pursue his dream of becoming an author.

Nick Davis, 58, of Cheddington Road, Pitstone, writes under the pen name of H E Joyce and has already sold 350 copies of ‘Miranda’s Fortune’ since it was released on Amazon on July 1.

“I have always had a great ambition to write, but just never seemed to have the time.”
After leaving the fire service in 1995, Nick became an artist, a talent that he still delves into from time to time.

His first book took about a year and a half to write, but since its release Nick has already begun working on the sequel.

“The novel is a psychological thriller written for 9 to 13 year olds and from the feedback I’ve received, I understand that many adults are enjoying the book too.”

Miranda’s Fortune is currently available for download at www.amazon.co.uk and you can follow H E Joyce on Facebook and Twitter @hejoyce1
