THE court case of a former Scout leader charged with a string of child sex offences, including rape, has been held up.
Robert Major from Leighton was due to appear at Amersham Crown Court yesterday, but the trial, which has been scheduled to take two weeks, was delayed while jury selection continues.
Mr Major, 62, of Steppingstone Place, who was a Scout leader from the 1960s to the 1980s, faces one charge of raping a child, eight counts of inciting a child to commit gross indecency, six charges of indecent assault on a youngster and two counts of possessing indecent images of children.
The offences are alleged to have happened at two addresses in the Leighton area between 1977 and 1982 and one address in Aylesbury between 1997 and 2001.
Prosecutors claim there are two victims.
Major also worked as a swimming pool supervisor at Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre.
