Did you know you can perform most yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation, and relaxation techniques from a chair? Chair Yoga is for everyone, no matter what age you are or what condition you are in you can experience the health benefits of yoga.
This form of yoga is very easy to do no matter what condition you are in. It is one of the gentlest forms of yoga available. For people with disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, or who just cannot get on the floor for whatever reason can benefit from a practice of yoga on a chair.
Trish Munro has been teaching Yoga for 12 years. She has written two very successful Yoga Courses for use in schools and over the last five years, has trained more than 3,000 school teachers all over the country. She is author and presenter of DVD ‘Relaxing Yoga’ for new World Music and ‘Yoga workshop’ on Cd for paradise music. She also runs an evening class by candlelight for adults every Tuesday at Southcott Lower School in Linslade.
Having been born with dislocated hips she trained to be a yoga teacher and Reiki master and, through a combination of movement and healing, has not succumbed to the knife.
“I am very seldom in any pain and I firmly believe that a combination of movement and a positive mental attitude can help to alleviate pain from a variety of illnesses,” she said.
Classes will be held at Southcott Residents Association Hall in Bideford Green, Linslade, starting on March 19 from 11am to 12pm.
