Gnarled Hatters centre-half Steve McNulty has backed youngster Alex Lacey to rise to the challenge of partnering him at centre-half following last week’s injury to Anthony Charles, writes Mark Wood.
Charles faces up to six weeks on the sidelines after hurting his shoulder in the 2-0 home win over Southport.
He said: “He’s a good player but no-one’s ever the finished article. You can always improve your game and there are parts of his game that he needs to improve and there’s part of my game I need to improve. But he showed in pre-season he can fill in and there’s no doubt in my mind that he will come in and do a very good job for the team.”
