The dust has hardly settled on Leighton-Linslade Carnival 2013, but the organisation for the 2014 event has started already.
Some attractions are already booked; enquiries are being made for stalls and for advertisements in the 2014 carnival programme.
The carnival committee have the process to select the theme for carnival 2014 under way, and it is now in residents’ hands.
Mark Freeman, chairman of Leighton-Linslade Carnival Committee, said: “A number of ideas for the theme were suggested, and we have merged those that were basically the same, ruled out ones that have been used already in the last few years and shortlisted down to the ten that were the most popular with the members of the committee.
“On the carnival website we are running a ballot for the public to choose the idea that will become the theme for carnival 2014.”
Have your say by visiting www.leightoncarnival.co.uk and choose your favourite. The options are:
Adverts
Best of British
Cities
Colours of the Rainbow
Countries of the World
Fairytales
Films
Great British Music
Nature
Smiles & Laughter
The ballot will run throughout August, closing on Saturday 31st. The result will be confirmed at the September committee meeting and announced on the website mid-September.
Mark added: “Children’s Books was selected as the theme for carnival 2013 in this way, and produced the biggest carnival procession for many years. We hope that the same will happen for carnival 2014.”
