A creative designer has boldly attempted to reinvent the traditional clothes horse frame to help make it a colourful addition to the home.
Creator of Tilly Airers Ltd, Lindsey Russel, 56, of High Road, Soulbury, first came up with the idea 18 months ago and since then has been determined to make it a UK-made product.
Lindsey, who lives in an upsidedown house that she designed herself, said: “I am fortunate enough to have a lovely house with a beautiful conservatory, but every time I walked in there I saw this ugly clothes horse ruining it.
“So I said to my husband that I would design and make something because I realised there was nothing out there.”
And that was the start of Tilly Airers that was named after Lindsey’s three-year-old granddaughter Tilly Rose and now has designs ranging from a cat, dog, fish and butterfly.
But Lindsey says the designs aren’t just for drying clothes and can be used in a variety of ways.
She said: “I hung Christmas cards from Tilly Dog, I use Tilly Fish as a towel rail in the bathroom and my granddaughter uses Tilly Cat as a painting easel.
“They are colourful, fun and make you smile. How can you better that? I have to keep it so quiet for a long time so I am so excited that it is finally launching.”
