The trial of a Leighton Buzzard man accused of imitating a fire arm during a five-hour armed siege with police at a flat on Bridge Street will begin this afternoon at Luton Crown Court.
Marc McLees, 42, of Bridge Street, Leighton Buzzard, pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and one count of communicating false information about a bomb hoax on February 5.
Mr McLees appeared in court in May via a video link from Bedford prison to enter his plea, but will appear at Luton Crown Court this afternoon for the start of the trial.
