The Imperial Ice Stars are back at Milton Keynes Theatre this week with their breath-takingly beautiful production of Sleeping Beauty On Ice.
Direct from a worldwide tour this dazzling production opens tonight and runs until Saturday.
The company is renowned for marrying well-loved classical scores with stunning choreography and romantic narrative, creating a fusion of adrenaline-rich ice dancing and dramatic performance.
Set to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent music, The Sleeping Beauty on Ice tells the timeless fairytale love story through mind-blowing high-speed leaps and throws, graceful and sublime ice dancing, awe-inspiring acrobatics and aerial gymnastics, stunning stilt skating and spectacular visual effects.
Acclaimed artistic director Tony Mercer, widely recognised as the world’s leading creator of theatre-on-ice, has teamed up with the top Russian Olympic coach Tatiana Tarasova to take contemporary ice dance to a new level.
On the ice there are a 26-strong cast of Olympic, World, European and National Championship skaters to raise the bar with feats of daring and complexity.

* Next up at MKT’s sister theatre, Aylesbury Waterside, is the dashing William Gaminara(Leo Dalton from Silent Witness) and Sue Holderness in the Terence Rattigan rom-com Less Than Kind.
Sue (who appeared in The Grove’s Xmas panto last year), played Marlene in Only Fools and Horses and she hopes that David Jason, the star of the BBC series will come to see her.
Set in 1944, Sue plays widow Olivia Brown who is caught between her teenage son and her new beau.
And she hopes that her former colleague, who lives locally, will have time to pop in during the week long run.
“I’m certainly hoping to persuade David to come to the play,” she said.
“I’ve seen him quite a lot recently because we had the terrible tragedy of the death of John Sullivan who created Only Fools and Horses, and we were all at the funeral, and have met again since.”
Sue says audience reaction to Less Than Kind has been extremely positive.
“It is a very touching play,” she said. “Underlying the comedy there is raw passion. I’ve seen hankies out in the audience.
“It is a very happy company of actors.
“I’m wildly blessed by my leading man William Gaminara who is one of the handsomest men in the business and I get to kiss him every night!
“You live the lives of these people and I feel privileged to create Olivia Brown who is a wonderful part.”
The play runs from June 24 - 29 with evening and matinee performances.
