Transport for Buckinghamshire (TfB) have announced that they are no longer posting A4 notices on sites for road closures relating to utility and Bucks CC works. Larger advance warning signs will be placed on site at least two weeks prior to the closure.
Peter Hardy, Buckinghamshire County Council Cabinet Member for Planning and Transport said: “The previous practice of posting A4 laminated posters had little benefit as they could not be read from the road. The new process should mean that adequate information is provided for road users in the most appropriate way.”
In addition to this, TfB will cease advertising road closures in newspapers in relation to street events. Event organisers will be encouraged to place advance warning signs and this information will also be available on our website.
The changes in these procedures will result in significant cost and time savings, with staff time allocated elsewhere and a reduction in money spent on these notices and advertising.
