This Sunday sees a family fun day at Pages Field to mark the field becoming a ‘Queen Elizabeth II Field’ in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Pages Field joins more than 1,500 open spaces nationwide that have been granted protection from development and preserved for future generations.

Residents, with the support of Leighton Linslade Town Council, FORATAIL and Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway, have organised the event which will include a range of activities for the whole family.

Discounted tickets for the Narrow Gauge Railway will be available on the day (subject to availability), and there will be a dog show (organised by ‘Nuts about Mutts’ - anyone wanting to take part in the dog show should turn up on the day), pony rides and activities for children.

MK Dons will be running a ‘beat the goalie’ competition, and Woodside Wanderers U15s, who use Pages Field on a regular basis, are running a football competition. Leighton Buzzard Croquet Club will be providing ‘have a go sessions’ for all ages.

A plaque will be unveiled by local MP Andrew Selous at 2pm.

The event runs from midday until 6pm with food available throughout the day.

More information from Leighton Linslade Town Council on 01525 631920.
