Cedars Upper School’s Raven Theatre was converted into a catwalk to showcase the work of students from the Textiles department.

Cedars students modelled garments and accessories designed and produced as part of their GCSE Textiles, BTEC Fashion & Clothing and A-level Textiles. The array of collections on display demanded skill and precision from the students.

Textile tutor, Katie Ford, presented the show and explained that she was “very proud of the students involved”.

She added: “They have all worked extremely hard over the past year and should be very pleased with what they have achieved”.

Ms Ford introduced BTEC Fashion & Clothing in September 2012 and there has been a massive uptake of places on the course. The work by the students was made to a high standard and many garments showed exquisite design detail.

Other departments were involved in the show: Hair & Beauty students worked hard on the day to style nearly 40 students’ hair; A-level Dance students performed throughout the show; the photographs were taken by Year 11 student, Wilfie Somogyi; a video of the show was produced by Year 13 student Ollie Smith.
