Rugby players and mayor to see new-look opticians

Mayor Alan Brandham and players from the Leighton Buzzard Rugby Club will officially open a newly fitted opticians in Leighton Buzzard.

On Saturday (May 4), mayor Alan Brandham, will join the players to celebrate the new-look Specsavers store, located in Waterborne Walk, while helping to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

The team will be visiting the revamped store to have their eyes tested by the latest optical equipment installed as part of the refit.

Store director, Ekta Kotecha, said: ‘We’re really looking forward to Saturday’s celebrations and are pleased that local sporting stars and the town’s mayor will be joining us to have their eyes tested.

“We have been part of the town centre for nine years and our investment in new equipment will reaffirm our commitment to the local community. We’re very proud of our new-look store and look forward to welcoming customers.”

A buffet, cake sale and raffle will be on offer to customers, including a sought after voucher for a re-style at local hairdressers A Touch of Class. Entertainment will be provided by Granny Turismo. All donations raised will go to Cancer Research UK, the store’s nominated charity.

In addition to the latest equipment, the opticians will also bring an updated selection of designer frames to the high street.
