The weather may tell a different story but spring has certainly arrived at Mead Open Farm in the form of plenty of new baby animals being born.
With more than 70 recent newborns including lambs, kid goats, piglets and rabbits, resident Mead mascots Shaggy and Hoppy the Easter Bunny have been busy helping the cute and cuddly new arrivals settle in to life on the farm and preparing to meet plenty of visitors over the Easter Holidays at the Easter Bunny Bonanza.
Said Sue Heast, owner of the Billington-based farm: “There’s babies galore at the farm right now and Shaggy and Hoppy have certainly been busy making friends with all of them! With many more babies due, we are also hopeful of welcoming some cute and fluffy chicks who are due to hatch any day now!”
Hoppy and all the new babies will be on show from today until April 14 when the Easter Bunny Bonanza takes place at Mead Open Farm. As well as meeting Shaggy and Hoppy, children can earn a chocolate treat in the new “Hoppy’s Hamlet”, help bottle feed the older lambs and run wild in Shaggy’s PlayWorld!
