He hasn’t arrived yet, but reports suggest that the Leighton Buzzard Railway’s Easter Bunny could be the biggest in Bedfordshire, at around 8ft (2.4 metres) tall!

Railway spokesman, Mervyn Leah, told Leighton Buzzard Online: “We haven’t actually seen this year’s Bunny yet, and he will only be with us for Easter Sunday, but his minders tell us that he will be something special.”

Also on March 31, there will be a “hunt-the-bunny” competition, to see who spots the right number during the train journey. And craft activities will take place in the warmth of Dobbers buffet, at Page’s Park station.

Steam trains will run on all four days of the Easter weekend, from Friday, March 29 to Monday, April 1, with departures from Page’s Park station between 10.40am and 3.40pm. Vintage steam power is scheduled for all trains, and on Easter Monday a working sand quarrying demonstration will be an extra attraction at the “country” end of the line.

During the Easter school holiday, the railway will also be open on Wednesdays (April 3 and 10).
