Ashridge House, home to Ashridge Business School, will again be on the BBC1 Flog It! programme on Monday at 4.30pm.
This is the second episode out of a total of four which were filmed at Ashridge last August. On that occasion hundreds of visitors flocked to Ashridge on a glorious summer’s day to have their prized belongings valued. The first episode went out in January.
Monday’s programme features the oak tree on the house’s main lawn which was originally planted by Queen Victoria. Among the items that are up for auction are a chessboard, an old Union Jack flag and a Lowry art exhibition catalogue, which was originally found among a collection of books bought at a car boot sale for £5.
Monday’s screening is on the first day of Ashridge’s new Easter house tours. Visitors will be invited to stay on to watch the programme on a large screen.
It is the first time Ashridge has staged house tours at this time of the year and the house is open March 25-28 and April 2-5. Garden tours are also taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays during this period.
