A Leighton father is the latest resident to make a stink about piles of dog poo that is making life miserable for children attempting to enjoy a town park.
Kevin Higgs, of St Andrew’s Close, posted a set of pungent-looking photos on social media - and got sympathy and support from other users - after taking his sons aged two and 11 to a small park in Mill Road, Leighton, for a game of football and a play out in the fresh air.
The disgusted father later told the LBO: “At first I was impressed to see a relatively litter-free green area, but this impression was soon ruined by the amount of dog faeces throughout the park - including within the fenced children’s play area.
“This is a green area. People will walk their dogs there but why cant people be more responsible especially where children and families are trying to enjoy the facilities? This is completely irresponsible - even more so given the fact that there are signs advising of fines up to £1000 and a bin provided for dog poo.
“When are authorities actually going to get strict and do something about this? It is absolutely disgraceful as well as being a health hazard.”
