Leighton-Linslade’s annual parish meeting takes place on Monday,March 18.
The meeting is an opportunity to hear about what the town council has achieved over the past year and to find out about plans for 2013-2014.
Mayor, Councillor Alan Brandham, will give an introduction, which will be followed by brief presentations by councillors representing the five main committees.
Councillor David Bowater will talk about policy and finance, whilst Councillor Gordon Perham will tell you about what’s happening in the area of leisure and community. Councillor Ken Sharer will talk about planning and Councillor Amanda Dodwell about sustainable transport.
Central Bedfordshire Councillor David Hopkin will also give an overview on the work of the partnership committee.
There will also be the opportunity to ask town councillors questions about the authority’s policies, plans and aspirations for the town.
The council is responsible for many aspects of the parish including parks and open spaces, allotments, cemeteries, community events, community grants and Christmas lighting.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm at The White House, Hockliffe Street, Leighton Buzzard.
