It has been announced that Leighton-Linslade has been successful in its renewal status as a Fairtrade Town.

This year, the town’s very own group wants to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight, which began yesterday and ends on March 10, to continue to raise awareness.

On Thursday, Fairtrade Leighton-Linslade will engage with the local business community at ‘Fairtrade…Your Business?’

The event, which is being hosted by Wilkinson’s Estate Agents, will run from 11.30am to 1.30pm, to give people the opportunity to find out where you can source Fairtrade products locally, how other businesses are using and supporting Fairtrade and share your own ideas on how local businesses can go further for Fairtrade.

To RSVP contact@fairtradell.co.uk and look out for the Fairtrade house in Wilkinson’s window.

And to mark the end of Fairtrade Fortnight and the start of Leighton’s Oxjam festival both organisations will team up to bring together an evening of music, celebration, Fairtrade wine and local cheeses, which is included in the ticket price, on Sunday, March 10, at Cedars Upper School.

The event will also mark the celebrations of the town’s renewal status.

See www.fairtradell.co.uk for see how to buy tickets for this event.
