THE dashing Dean Dibsdall, Linslade’s denonair and dishy hunk, who is doing his best to impress a dream date in a new reality TV programme, is still in the running for a £25,000 top prize just two weeks into the elimination competition.

Dean, who won the Mr Bedfordshire competition last year, has already earned himself a fan - former Big Brother winner and host Brian Dowling who is hoping the 27-year-old farrier from Knaves Hill isn’t Playing it Straight in the Channel Four production.

Brian took to Twitter to tell his followers that Dean is his favourite despite knowing that the winner takes the hand of blonde babe Carla from Derby as well as a cash prize. The Linslade hunk has also been branded a hottie by a mix of both male and female fans on the social networking site.

Playing It Straight pitches 11 guys into a contest to take the girl and the prizemoney. What Carla doesn’t know is who is straight and who is gay. If, at the end of the series, she picked a gay man then he will take the £50,000 first prize but if she picks a straight man when the couple split the money equally.

“The organisers told us we were going to be on a programme called Dream Date. They flew us all out to this fantastic £3m villa in Barcelona and it wasn’t until they started filming that we learned the truth,” said Dean.

“I looked really shocked in the first programme when I learned what was really happening. The whole thing is a game.

“I mean I do quite a manly job but the girl, Carla, has to work out whether that means I’m straight or whether it’s a double bluff.

“We spent three weeks filming the series and had a wonderful time. It was the best time of my life. I was so lucky.

“Carla is a really great girl. She’s the same age as me so we really hit it off.”

Each week contestants have trials and tasks to perform with the emphassis very much on having fun. Last week the group visited a Catalan sausage factory and afterwards Dean manned a sausage machine to turn out some bangers of his own accompanied by a very suggestive voiceover from comedian Alan Carr.

In episode three, which airs on E4 on Monday and Channel Four next Saturday, the remaining lads had to attempt to seduce their fair maiden.

“It was such an amazing experience that I would love to get into presenting and do some more TV,” said Dean.
