A new theatre company is premiering two new plays based on the Holocaust.

Voices of the Holocaust is founded by an ex-head of drama and Holocaust education specialist Cate Hibbert – one of a handful of international experts in the field.

Said Cate: “I actually trained initially with a professor from Canada, not realising at the time that this specialist field was so rare. I went on to study Holocaust drama, theatre and education on postgraduate courses with the universities of Warwick and London and decided that I had to put the work into practice by founding this theatre company.

“We’ve managed to cast 14 extremely intelligent and talented actors who have taken on this hugely important work. As our survivors are ‘graduating’ and leaving us as time passes, it is crucial that their voices and stories are not forgotten and that we keep remembering and striving to understand the implications of the Holocaust.”

Voices is a professional theatre company that also works closely with education organisations – schools and synagogues.

I Never Saw Another Butterfly and Meaning come to Stantonbury Campus Theatre, MK, on Jan 31 at 7.30pm.
