A pair of Leighton bands are taking to the stage in a charity gig aimed at helping some great causes.
Blues Before Midnight and The Palms are playing at Brooklands Social Club on Friday. All proceeds will be going to Willen and Keech Hospices and Resolution, the Armed Forces PTSD charity run by Jim Woolley from The Hare, Linslade.
Blues before Midnight has been featured in the LBO before as they have raised money for Leighton Linslade Homeless Charity. The blues, soul and rock n roll group has played for Oxjam and were well received at this year’s canal festival.
Blues Brothers dress is optional for the gig (but you’ll have so much fun if you dress up!). There will also be a raffle on the night to help increase funds for the charities.
The Palms all live in Leighton and formed two years ago. Their motto is “Playing for our leisure and your pleasure” and the music is for the more mature audience although they cover some contemporary songs and play country, blues, rock’n’roll covers from Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Wilson Picket, CCR and The Searchers etc.
Brooklands Social Club is in Garden Leys. Call 01525 851254 for more details.
