Christmas is supposed to be a time full of festivities and cheer. A time spent with the family enjoying special moments together, but not so if you are unable to see your grandchildren as so many thousands of grandparents are aware.
Increasing numbers of grandparents are denied contact with their grandchildren as a result of divorce or family rifts, the bereavement of a son/daughter and the ‘care system’ in the UK. The Aylesbury Vale Support Group run by The Grandparents’ Association (a national registered charity) can help to get you through this very difficult period. They are a group of grandparents who have unreasonably limited contact or no contact at all with their grandchildren. The group has been running for two years, and members meet once a month to support each other and to share information, advice and help in managing the loss of contact with their grandchildren.
Join them on December 12 at The Holiday Inn Hotel, Aston Clinton Road, Aylesbury from 7pm. If you can’t make it, the group will be meeting on the second Wednesday of each month next year. For more information please contact Suzanne on 01296 582614.
