Santa Claus is coming to town as the Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade prepare for their annual festive float tour.
The club is once again organising its Santa float for the run up to Christmas as a way of bringing excitement to youngsters while raising significant donations for local worthy causes.
A draft itinerary has been drawn up which will be confirmed once the club get commitments from those who will help Santa collect door to door.
The club is now looking for interest from people representing local clubs and charities who are willing to walk the route for one night with collecting tins.
A spokesman said: “This should involve about two hours collecting. We need a minimum of sixand a maximum of 12 adults from each organisation who are fit to walk at a reasonable pace to follow the Santa float. The weather can sometimes be challenging. For health and safety reasons we cannot accommodate children under 11 and anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult.
“To those organisations who are accepted to help (we have a limited number of places available), a donation will be made to their funds from monies collected over the Christmas period.”
If you are interested, you can apply by email to secretary@leightonlinsladerotary.com by November 18 giving brief details of the objectives of your organisation, a contact name and telephone number.
The club aims to contact people by the end of November to advise if they are successful in their application.
