A Leighton businessman drove 2,000 miles in his beloved Triumph to raise money for charity.
Sam Shattock of TK Furniture, Hockliffe Street, took part in the 23rd Round Britain Reliability Run, organised by Club Triumph.
Sam and his lovingly restored 1972 Triumph 2000 MK 2 has successfully completed the event, in which drivers take their motors from Middlesex to Lands End and back again, five times without breaking down. Of the 95 cars that started, 87 successfully made it around the route.
The event raises money for Children with Cancer UK and this year’s targeted sponsorship is £60,000. Donations can still be made via www.clubtriumph.org or in person at TK Furniture 3 Hockliffe Street, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 1EZ.
