A new deputy town clerk for Leighton-Linslade is on the verge of being appointed.
Second stage interviews are being heard this week ahead of a personnel sub-committee meeting of Leighton-Linslade Town Council on Thursday where the new appointment will be agreed.
The new member of staff will take over from Barry Wardle who suddenly left his post in August 2011 after years of loyal service.
Despite repeated calls from the LBO, including a Freedom of Information Act request, neither town council officials nor its members will give the reason for Mr Wardle’s departure, which followed a disciplinary hearing.
