It’s 101 years since Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic tale The Secret Garden was first published - and what better way to celebrate than by bringing the whole family along to The Stables this Christmas to discover exactly what is behind the door?

This is a brand new production, based on Burnett’s book, and it is brought to life with classic story telling, puppetry, circus and a bit of good old fashioned theatrical magic.

A fabulous production is nothing without a fabulous cast, and transporting you back to the Yorkshire Moors are James Laurence Hunter as Dickon who made his Proteus début last year in Frankenstein and has recently been involved in the Olympic Team Opening Ceremonies for London 2012. Paul Huntley-Thomas plays Ben Weatherstaff who made a lasting impression on audiences last year as the Creature in Frankenstein. New to the company are Ashley Christmas as Martha, Zoot Lynam, talented actor and musician, playing Colin and Louisa Quinn, as the leading lady Mary Lennox.

This is a journey beyond the door and into the garden of imagination. Join the award-winning Proteus Theatre Company for a very different Yuletide family show as they tell a story of unlocking hearts and minds, the redemptive power of nature and why some rules should be broken.

You can catch the production between December 19 and January 5 at the Wavenden venue. Show times and ticket prices vary so call the Box Office on 01908 280800 or go online at www.stables.org for details.
