A married couple from Leighton Buzzard have pleaded not guilty to fraud charges against the Royal British Legion.
Andrew Pullen, 51, and his wife Georgina Pullen, 52 of Bassett Road, appeared at Luton Magistrates Court today after being charged with fraud by abuse of position on Friday, October 5, following an investigation into stolen charity funds.
It is alleged that between October 2008 and May 2011 the couple stole about £8,000 from funds gained by charitable means while acting as treasurer and secretary for the Leighton Buzzard branch of the charity.
Both stood in the dock together and stated their name, age and adress to the court, followed by their plea.
Mr Pullen was legally represented, while his wife decided she would represent herself.
The couple were bailed and are now due to appear at Luton Magistrates Court again on December 19 for a date to be scheduled at Luton Crown Court.
