Thieves escaped with more than 11,000 litres of red diesel when they raided a quarry in Heath and Reach. Intruders broke into the quarry, in Eastern Way, some time during the weekend of October 6-8 and drained a dumper truck of fuel before targeting the site’s storage tank.
Police are calling on isolated properties to take extra security measures and they are appealing for anyone who may have seen a van or tanker leaving the area to call the non emergency number 101.
*Thieves made off with 200 litres of diesel when they attacked a red Scania lorry parked in a layby on the A4146, Leighton, as the driver slept on Tuesday night.
